Hotel Wrecking City Traders’ (HWCT) first full length LP since 2008’s ‘Black Yolk’. After a series of successful collaborations & splits with Desert Rock forefathers Gary Arce, Mario Lalli (Yawning Man/Fatso Jetson) and a steady bout of touring Australia and Japan, the urge to record as a duo again was something that was important. So was emphasizing the song and the melody and crafting the riff. ‘Ikiryo’ is a more harnessed beast and comprises 5 songs that were written over the course of a 3 month period at the end of 2013. They were recorded in a mere 2 days, in January, 2014. This time working with engineer Jason Fuller at his Goatsound Studios in Melbourne. Jason’s background is well known as being in the heavier more metal realm (Brutal Truth, Blood Duster). The band were sought out by Jason and invited to record, ironically entering the studio with some of the most melodic and concise songs of their existence. The result is a vivid sonic journey over the course of 40 minutes that sees HWCT’s new approach spread across 5 measured sonic explorations. Improvisational aspects are still present but so is a confident and measured velocity.  This is evident in the album’s title, suggesting a spirit leaving the body and moving around freely. The album is heavy, mind altering and noisy and still undeniably HWCT.

Hey folks,

First off in the announcements for today is that we are proud to be releasing our 9th release.  It comes from none other than Hotel Wrecking City Traders' guitarist Toby Wrecker.

It is a limited edition (of 150) CD release, entitled 'Sounds of Jura'. Here's some info straight from the man himself:

This Release is a collection of home recordings recorded at various points throughout 2011/12. It's far from polished and is a what you hear is what you get kind of release. I had a great time putting these songs together and thought I should really do something with them rather than let them sit there collecting dust until like so many others are misplaced never to be heard again. The deal sealer for me with putting together this collection of tracks was when I messaged a buddy from school who I hadn't spoken to in probably 15 years or so. His name is Mauro Italiano and he is an artist from Turin, Italy. I asked Mauro whether or not he would be interested in doing some artwork for some music that I had made and he kindly said yes. After getting some rough sketches through, I realised just how amazing this guy was at his craft. It blew me away. After receiving the cover art which you can see I felt I really needed to honor both Mauro's talent and generosity. So I hope you enjoy all the sounds and visuals as much as we do. All the proceeds of this recording will go straight back into the next one which I hope to bring to you later this year.

Southern California's ‘Waterways' darkly beautiful rock music is the result of a long over due collaboration of old friends rich 

with shared musical history. Gary Arce & Mario Lalli have literally grown up playing and writing music together. ‘Yawning Man’

founded in 1987 by Arce, Lalli and Alfredo Henandez developed their signature sound with endless desert jam sessions amid 

the cactus and dirt bike trails. Tony Tornay and Mario Lalli have been playing for the last 16 years in ‘Fatso Jetson’. ‘Abby 

Travis’ and Mario first met over 25 years ago when Mario and her brother David Travis organized the now legendary outdoor 

generator parties in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Mario's early band ‘Across the River’ played Abby's 16th Birthday party 

back when she was in ‘The Lovedolls’.

Abby looked to the bleak yet endearing characters hidden in the Southern California desert’s underbelly. From this comes 

her visionary haunted folk tales of the new west dusted with drug lab dreamscapes and suburban legends. She draws 

inspiration from the dark thunderous reverberation of Gary Arce and Mario Lalli's signature guitar work and cinematic 

soundscapes. The result is an album of intriguing shadows and bursts of light. While Yawning Man's music as well as the 

eclectic work of Abby Travis can be used for reference to the sound of this project, it only points you towards 

the indescribable sights and sounds of ‘Waterways’!

Sons of Alpha Centauri (UK):

'Sons of Alpha Centauri' shall be presenting a true rarity from their vaults with a track recorded during the sessions from 

their debut album ‘Sons of Alpha Centauri’ released on ‘Sound Devastation Records’ in 2007.

This eight-minute masterpiece was allegedly meant to be the centrepiece of the debut but was too long to feature! Now 

having been re-mastered for vinyl at the ‘Ranscombe Studios’ where it was recorded it sounds as fresh now as the day it 

was recorded calling on influences and sounds as far reaching and wide ranging as ever from the genre defying 

instrumental rock pioneers!

‘27’ transcends styles, salivates anticipation ahead of the bands forthcoming second album currently in pre-production and
